I am actually very concerned because starting a few months ago and it's getting worst and worst every weeks, all of my corporate HP ProDesk 600 G1 Mini PC are having regular blue screens because "STOR_EXCEPTION" error. According to my research, "STOR_EXCEPTION" is usually related to a outdated drivers or a defective storage device. Since I have a DOZEN of HP ProDesk 600 G1 Mini desktop that are all doing the same error, I would not suspect any hardware defect as well, however I took two of the affected computers and perform a 100% clean Windows 10 Pro install, then update all drivers to latest (as per HP website), so as all BIOS/firmware updates and these d*** computers are still bluescreen-ing almost ONCE PER DAY, no matter what I do.
Since they are business computers, this is highly problematic. The only thing I can see is this coming from something between the hardware and some recent Windows 10 updates and/or peripheral driver update, but since I performed two 100% clean install, then performed all possible updates everywhere, I am getting a bit out of ideas...
Hmmmm,.....partitions info you gave is normal (no HP factory recovery partition)
i would try booting into safe mode and run the clone application if it allows that,
(you may have to create a bootable usb key for this)
is the clone disk the same size or only a bit larger? if it's significantly larger look at your clone settings and select "EXACT" clone options IE_-the clone of a 20gig drive to a 30gig drive will only create a 20gig partition on the clone instead of creating a 30 gig
Hi there i have recently purchased an x working server that was used as a temp during a refurb of the server room once that was complete i was giving it to use as a home and remote server.
Once i got it home and plug in the power it turns on for a few seconds the fans all spins then it cuts right out and constantly repeats this cycle till i pull the power cord.
I have checked everything over and all cables are in place it has been cleaned out and i even re done the thermal paste. On further inspection when i put the power cord back in the cycle repeats again turning on and cutting off and there is also a green LED that flashes 6 times followed by an amber LED that blinks once.
I hope this is plenty of information i also have a short video of the hole process and i hope this could be resolved quite easy hope to hear back soon thanks.
Hi:
HP split into two companies a few years ago.
HP supports PC's, printers, tablets and calculators.
HP Enterprise (HPE) supports servers, switches, routers and tape drives.
You may also want to post your question on the HPE Community Support Forum -- ProLiant Servers section...

I'd start by removing the "riser board" for the second processor. I've never seen one shipped with the riser board in place and no second processor installed. Those are very easy to release and remove...... That all is assuming you only have one processor. If you in fact have two processors then your problem likely is that you have not given the riser board at least one stick of RAM to work with. Look at the memory load instructions.... each processor needs at least one stick. And, there is a correct order to adding the ram.... what goes where. It is all in that manual and even on the inside of your side cover in an abbreviated form.
You likely know about the HP technical and service manual for the ZX40 workstations.... here is your error code:
Just to be clear, I was not slamming the HP tech that come out. He is a great guy and knew his stuff to be sure, there were just a few things I was not real happy about and like I mentioned I think he was over working himself.
Please pay no attention to my other post related to this subject, I'm talking about timelines that I mentioned.
As I did mention in the other post I received a 4 beep code, 4 beeps 2 second pause. It had been determined that it was the motherboard, Hp installed a new motherboard and the workstation worked great for about a year or more (pay no attention to timeline) I believe. Then I received the 4 beep cord again, this was maybe 2 months ago, at the time I pulled all the memory modules 8x8 of them, I cleaned them with Isopropyl Alcohol, then reinstalled the memory modules, and she started back up. Now when I first posted this thread I had received the beep code yet again. Last night I pulled the memory again cleaned it again, reinstalled it and she started right up. Also, when I first bought the computer it came with only one memory stick, over time I added 7 more, when I installed the 8th stick that is when I got the first 4 beep code, I pulled that stick and the computer started, that is when I contacted HP, they said probably bad memory module so I bought another one and received the same beep code again with the new one and that was when HP sent someone out.
on most HP systems, after enabling the raid option in the bios you need to then select the drives to be used once the drives are selected the bios saves this config information in the cmos settings and also on the selected drives
The RAID Setup Utility can be accessed through CTRL-I during the boot sequence when prompted
once this low level config/setup of the drives is finished, the system and OS install should see the raid drives as a single device
more information should be available in the user manual

Getting a used power supply for your workstation currently off eBay is quite inexpensive (about $45.00 USD), and the beep codes are pointing to that being your issue. Swapping in a power supply is a 15 minute job if that. Low risk, low cost.
Hearing that it was a bent pin on a motherboard header.... non-issue if it was not shorting across the adjacent pins. I'd get a power supply and swap it in and go from there. These beeps tend to be accurate.
Well. I have to say that does sounds like the best route forward. I had planed on doing the BST test that DGroves recommended, but at the last minute I thought I would try just cleaning the memory again just to see if it would work.
I did look PSUs up on eBay and yes used are very reasonable, as I was contemplating buying one I thought I'd really like to have a new one, but like you mention used can be had very cheap and if I get a bad one, no big deal I buy another one and still be under the cost of a new one. I'm getting old sometimes my thinking can get narrow. Thanks for widening. I will do the BST test also just to make sure.
Thank you both for the help it is very much appreciated.

Hi All,
I have a problem with a desktop PC 280 G2. After some updates, included the BIOS one, I have no video output. Also tried with VGA and DVI, there is no dedicated graphical card, I can't see either the boot screen (and relative BIOS settings). PC is working well, I can access in RDP and make updates, there aren't visible errors.
I found an old item on this forum:
I tried with a BIOS reset (on the MB there isn't a CMOS reset button, it's correct move the jumper right?), but without success.
CMOS reset jumper
Anyone has any idea? It can be an hardware problem (integrated video chip broken)?
Thank you in advance
Lorenzo
These packages seems to have the same problem, the MD5 checksum does not match:
sp80445
sp85353
sp95770
sp93473
sp92168
sp87703
For example SP80445.EXE , computed MD5 sum is C685AC555469095E392BF1010E014D6B
computed SHA256 sum is D3496CEA31304435437816DA2FFFD9222EE0DD16D67D1B433A722EAB40986DDD
The actual sp80445.cva file contains these values:

Will somebody from HP support repair it ?
Well, the Acronis Backup was made with booting from USB stick, and that didn't solve the issue. The target disk is larger (480 vs 256), but after the cloning the partitions are not. There is simply a lot of unused space left. I planed to take care of it afterwards, within Windows.
Hi,
On this HP system the CTRL-I isn't prompted.
After enabling the RAID option in the BIOS, RAID management must be done under OS with the Intel RST utility.
My RAID 1 is now ready 😁
Our company is pushing a security patch to over 6500 HP Thin Clients (t5740e). I'd like to know how many devices is recommended to be patched at one time? We are on an FTP connection to these external open devices and will be pushing the patch through HP Device Manager (HPDM) version 4.7. Any information would help;)
Hi Dgroves,
I didn't have a lot of time the last days to keep my busy with the system.
I just changed some settings in BIOS that have been e-mailed me by the vendor. Some of his setting were correct on my system, and others I had to change.
This settings I had to watch for were these:
Enhanced Halt State (C1E) must Enabled.
Turbo Mode must be Enabled.
QPI Snoop Mode must be set to Home Snoop. This was wrong on my system.
Hyper-Trading is Enabled.
Settings in Windows that I mentioned before.
Then I removed the Host Bus Adapter for my Avid Nitris DX out of PCIe slot 5 (set to Gen 2 via a jumper on the motherboard).
Next I took out the Sonnet Allegro FW800 FireWire board. This was sitting in PCIe slot 7.
I also disconnected the TP-LINK TL-SG108 switch that is connected to an Avid Artist Mix, Transport and Color panel.
As last I detached the 4 HDD's out of the lower bay and the second SSD out of the front bay of the Z840.
My first reaction after powering up the system again with only all of the above removed was: Wow! This beast rocks!
I never experienced this speed in Windows and two other software applications.
Opening context menus in Avid Media Composer and Sorenson Squeeze is a breeze. I couldn't do this before. It all seems to work like it should. And very fast without hitches!
Now I am going to add the second SSD again and boot. See what this gives. Then I will add the 4 HDD's in RAID5 again and boot. The next steps will be the PCIe cards on so like you told me before.
Hopefully I can figure out what this slowness from the last weeks was occurring.
After I hopefully discovered the problem I will do a clean install of the system anyway. I’ll set the BIOS back to factory default and from there on I’ll make the changes that where giving me by my dealer.
I'll report back when I have done these tests.
Thanks again for your great help and time.
Friendly greetings and good weekend!
Hello BambiBoomZ,
Yes, I also found it very strange to read that Windows 10 64-bit could handle 255 threads.
My dealer mailed me some settings for the BIOS that I had to set right.
They build a system like mine minus the second SSD and 4 HDD's. The graphics card was also another model of NVIDIA (K6000 instead of P4000).
One them was wrong on my machine. QPI Snoop Mode had to be Home Snoop.
After removing the added hardware and extra HDD's and SSD the system rolled like a super fast train.
So now it's trying to find the part that caused this slowness.
I'll report back when I know more.
Thank you very much for your help and time.
friendly greetings and have a nice weekend!
Hello SDH,
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I already have been sent some changes I had to make in the BIOS. But I definitely ask at my dealer what you are suggesting. I even didn't know this was possible.
Thanks again for your help and time.
Friendly greetings and have a nice weekend!
this is why i said to start with a default bios setting for the system and remove all cards/drives and if still slow reinstall windows
your making progress! i suspect the issue will be a conflict between 2 of the video/audio boards ask your reseller which slot they placed each board in and follow that config
