Thunderbolt 3 on Z440

Is there a PCI-e card that adds a Thunderbolt 3 port to a Z440 workstation?

Even if there is no officially supported card, is it possible to get it working with another PCIe card, possibly without the Thunderbold header connection? The goal is to connect a Sonnet Breadaway Box with an external GPU to the computer.

It should work on Linux mainly.

Also, is this be possible on a Z840 workstation?


Hp elitebook 8760w, not charging with battery inserted. Only works on charger or on battery.

I was using a 90w ac adapter for my HP Elitebook 8760w. It died. Sometimes it charges the battery, sometimes it doesn't. 

 

I then bought a new 200w hp Charger (part no:677764-002  but it does not charge the battery (part no: 632114-141). The laptop /workstation only turns on when only one of these parts are inserted. When I plug both the charger and battery, it does work. Currently the battery is empty and it wont turn on.

 

I tested the ac in hp hardware diagnostic efi, but it doesn't recognize the charger. Yet when the charger alone is inserted the laptop turns on.

 

When I still had juice, I uninstalled the first ac compliant adapter driver in device manager, it turned the battery icon from low battery to no battery plugged in, it was using the charger then and not the battery. 

 

Please help, I've tried almost everything.

You need to get a new liquid cooler. i had same issue. if ur pump is good then you can fix it by yourself. just try to see if the pum is working or not by feeling the noise. also check ur bios battery . I have fixed both of my heatsinks.

I'm not absolutely certain,  but I believe that that the z440 and z840 amy only support Thunderbolt 2:

As to installing a third party TBT 3 card, these appear to be PCI- E 3.0 x4 and need to be connected to a motherboard TBT header.  The HP TBT 2 card also uses an internal connection, but I can't find the specification of that connection on the z440 vis-a-vis on Z4.  The situation apparently hinges on the specification of the internal connection.

It says that there is a problem with the printer or ink system and that i should turn it off then on. I have done that and i still get the same error message

Hello, 

I am trying to deploy files to a HP T630 from HP DM 4.7 SP10. 

I get the following  -

However, the files are not actually on the remote machine. The Directory \etc\Wallpapers is still empty.

 

PS. I am aware of the discrepancy of file 2. Was just testing with \etc\

 

Has anyone else had this problem?

Unable to Hide Desktop Icons Thin pro 7

Hello, 

I am currently attempting to update my T630's from Thinpro 6 to ThinPro 7. I'm having trouble with Icons on the desktop. 

Although I have removed the icons by unticking "Show Icon Desktop" for each Application. This is also reflected within my deployed Profile which hasDesktopIcon set at 0. 

The Icons are still apearing on the Desktop. However, the tic box for "Show Icons" is still unticked.  

Could someone please explain ?

HP Support Assistant - HP® error 1327 Invalid Drive Z

Good morning
I've tried many times to install HP Support Assistant
I have been waiting for the various product updates
I hoped that they would solve the installation problem
unfortunately this did not happen

I have always installed and uninstalled the software as required by the normal procedures
I always have the same error: "HP Support Assistant - HP® error 1327 Invalid Drive Z".
How can I solve the problem?

Your picture may take several hours to be approved, so this may be totally wrong.....

Sometimes downloads seem to go to a Drive that is Hidden, Locked or Notional.

HP Elite Slice and Teams

We got an Elite Slice to demo and I am unable to get it to connect to our O365 Teams tenant. I ran Windows update to make sure it had the latest patches and found an updated to the SRS software, but no matter what I do the SRS software will not connecto to Teams. The error I get is "Couldn't connect to Teams". It will connect to Teams meeting as long as it is an attendee but if we attempt to add a user from the SRS it connects via SfB. The SRS software is 4.0.64 and Windows verion is 10.0.17134.590.

 

I am unable to locate any documentation on Teams and the Slice but it does appear on Microsoft's list of devices that will connect to Teams.

I thank you for the quick reply
in fact I had not written it before but I actually tried to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant  (SP93097.exe) but continue to give the same problem.
The Workstation has no hidden disks, only a disk on the network but there are no problems to connect.
despite being a Workstation pre configured by HP (I have 6 equal and all give the same problem) the "?" taskbar icon has never been there.

So where does the download reside?

Where will the Support Assistant Install to, and Reside?

 

What is the Group policy on installing software?

Is there a temporary area that the installer looks to, like a Z: and cant allocate any RAM or Disk space to extract before installing?

 

Don't try this at home, or worse still at work....

If you use 7ZIP and extract the SP you downloaded,

and then extract that again, you may see a file listing like mine...

local disk C :, Recovery Image D :, Reserved for system H :, network disk sBeato \\ nas-data Z:

 

the downloaded file are on Download Dir
"C:\Users\Beato\Downloads".

setup.exe does indeed setup HP Support Assistant, at Admin Level.
