When will the BIOS update (with microcode 0x25) for this machine be available? According to https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-prodesk-400-g2.5-small-form-factor-pc/8223649/document/c06001626 it should be out already.
This implies the USB stick is boot in legacy bios mode.
Usually would reset the bios to factory default and should be able to see USB boot available in boot UEFI and legacy mode
I have an Asus GTX 560 that works in another system, and once I put it in the z420, it wont post. Everything I can find makes me think they should be compatible; however I can't get it to post
Please advise
I can give that a try.
I read somewhere that to do UEFI mode, you had to Disable Secure Boot.
What I have found in 2 of the units that would not boot to USB, is that Secure Boot was disabled and Legacy Support was enabled. The oposite of what I expected from what I read...
Disabling Legacy and Enabling Secure made it work. However, F9 is still required to assign the temporary boot device.
So, basically - If I have never turned on a unit, the USB image will boot and load properly.
- If I have done anything with the unit powered on for any reason, this option disappears and requires intervention with settings and an insulting F9 option.
I have around 20 t420 Thin Clients running ThinPro. Once or twice a day the screen flickers and goes away for a few seconds then returns. Any idea what it could be? We have them locked down so all they are capable of is booting up to Firefox and connecting to a Citrix VDI desktop. I also have t410s in this environment doing the same thing that do not have this problem.
Hi,
I would like to know if Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB (1607) is supported on the HP Z4 G4 Workstation (Xeon W-2123).
I have tried but can't seem to get any solid answer.
I have checked "http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_Driverpack_Matrix_x64.html" and it looks like that no drivers provided by HP. However, I would like to know if it is supported.

Hello all,
I've lost my keys for the chassis case of my XW8600. I'm wondering if the keys for the XW6200 or other XW-Series workstation fit for the XW8600?
If they are not the same, which part-no does the keys for XW8600 have and where do I get it?
Could anyone please help?
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Otto
your current bios is fine, please do not try flashing as it will not resolve this issue
what is the card that you installed model number?
question, do you actually have a drive(s) connected to the controller card?
if not,.... then this is why you do not see the ctrl-m prompt
again,....is a drive connected to the PEXSAT32 sata port??
if no drive is connected to the PEXSAT32 controller you will not see the ctrl-m prompt
then as i said it's all in the timing of when you press ctrl-m
again,....power on and hold down the ctrl key and start tapping the "m" key very fast
I got mine working after messing up the other two Motherboreds CPU soket. Here are my specs
https://valid.x86.fr/g9aixx
I still have the other two Motherboreds, but they can only take 1 CPU now do to droping the cpu, becouse I would keep taking it out and puting it back in all the time and droped one of my CPUs on the soket.
the answer is yes and no, while the basic key size is the same HP used several diffrent key codes on said keys
i don't know how many diffrent keyings there were but i suspect it was not that many so buying/aquiring the keys will at some point give you a working key
since windows 10 is supported on this model by default and all win 10 editions use the exact same kernal, with only the added/missing options in each build being diffrent you now have your answer (it's yes)
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c05527757
the GTX 560 does not have a UEFI enabled video bios, check the z420 bios/video options and make sure it's set to legacy
i just looked at the document you listed and the bios update for the specific model you listed
HP ProDesk 400 G2.5 SFF
does not have a release date listed , when it is released the far right box will have a link to the service pack download
You can press the F10 key to enter the BIOS when the machine starts up.
