Re: Since upgrading Z620 from dual E5-2630v2 to dual E5-2660v2 errors on boot

Hi DGroves.

I had this QPI error 15 days ago:

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

I did this:  open case, pull out riser board, clean RAM memories, swap RAM memories before installing them, reseat riser board.    It worked for 15 days until today.  Today the Z620 shut down by itself and when booting up it showed the error in first picture.  The 2nd boot up it showed this error in the 2nd picture.

Do you think it could be the fact I reinstalled the riser board and not the RAM memories which removed the error? ( I did not remove any CPU or CPU Heatsink) so I exclude the error being from CPUs.

Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

Hi Syed,

I'm not a BIOS export, from HPDM perspective I think you can add delete tasks after setting BIOS configuration to clean up the temporary files (I tried in my lab and didn't see any abnormal).

Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

Hey Chen,

Sorry my question is concern with HPDM only, you mean after successfull execution of the task "set_bios_config_win10IoT"  then create a task by follwoing command to delete the temp files.

cd c:\TEMP

del BiosConfigUtility64.exe

del set_t620_BiosConfig.txt

Or how did you tried in your lab setup via HPPDM to delete files ?

Thnak you veru much for your help and support!

Regards

Syed

Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

I created a template sequence with 2 templates

1. Set_Bios_Config_Win10IoT

2. File & Registry template with "DELETE FILE" subtask

You don't have to use the command to delete file, we have this functionality built in already.

Re: QPI fatal error messages 929 932 during POST on Z620

And now after reseatting the riser board, it shows only CPU1  error  ( which is located on the riser board)

It froze again and shut off. I reseated the riser board, it shows only CPU1  error  ( which is located on the riser board)

Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

Hey Chen,

Last reply worked it means the second template will be deleted the temp files and alreday checked by logging to thin-client console and temp files are deleted.

But the next thing is that if i need to verify that my bios settings are  really changed, so i need to apply Get_Bios_Config_win10IoT to see what is the current BIOS settings after applied set template ?

But BIOS settings are didn't effect  after applying template "Get_Bios_Settings_Win10Iot" to see the effect on which i got the file and see inside t620_BiosConfig.txt but no thing changed same as before.

First i applied template "Set_Bios_Config_Win10:

set03.PNG

Sussessfull result of the above task:

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
sett_bios.PNG

Next template is to delete files from temp folder :

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
del01.PNG

del2.PNG

task is executed successfully as follows:

Clik here to view.
delete-files.PNG

Now everytemplates is working and executed but after that if we check the result by applying "Get_Bios_Config_Win10IoT" then got the same result.

only two settings need to be changed in the bios setting:

Integrated Graphics:        Force

UMA Frame Buffer Size: 1G

set_t620_BiosConfig.txt

How Can I Make A t510 Work With RDS 2016 logins?

I am having a heck of a time getting our HP Think Clients to work with RDS 2016 correctly.  Since you can not select connect with smart card and get the Windows login screen like we used to with 2008R2.  Clients are having the hardest time because the think client either tells them they failed the login or they need to change a password.  There is no direct display of what the client is doing incorrectly.  Also if a client needs to change a password that is not working so well either.  Does not give them a clear reason why the password did not change.  Any help that could be provided would be great.

EliteDesk G3 Hardware Configuration

I would like to confirm the port layout of the newer HP EliteDesk 800 G3's.  I have other G2's and G3's from past orders but the configuration for the latest quote I received (Product #  1FZ08UT#ABA) shows 2 low profile pcie slots, 2 full height pcie slots, and no Displayport or VGA ports.  Also, there is no rear picture of the 1FZ08UT#ABA, so I can't tell from that info either.  My earlier G3's (p n  1FZ05UT#ABA) have 4 low profile PCIE slots, 2 displayports and 1 vga.  Are the current G3's that different?

The description I am working from is at "https://www.cdw.com/product/HP-EliteDesk-800-G3-SFF-Core-i5-7500-3.4-GHz-8-GB-512-GB-US/4462459"

Re: EliteDesk G3 Hardware Configuration

Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

There is a typo in your first template "Set Bios Config",

The script should be:

BiosConfigUtility64.exe /set:"c:\temp\set_T620_BiosConfig.txt"

Could you please double check on this?

Re: Version of DP and additional HDMI

Re: HP Slimline case

Oh... Uh, yeah.. Maks sense..   As I see it, the power supply would be  approximately 3.4" X 2.125" X 7.8" (86mm X 54mm X 200mm), which would be pretty much the maximum possible dimensions it could be. I've also attached a photo that I've placed the measured dimensions on, if its of any assist..Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

I see several power supplies on Ebay with similare dimensions - to a point - that being the 'width' of 2.125"  as most with 'similar' dimension seem to be 2 ½" or so.  Anything 'wider' than 2.125" WILL impinge into (and obstruct) the first expansion slot rear cover - which is no big deal to me as there's 3 or more inches between the ITX motherboard that's installed and the power supply 'bay'.  If the only ting I can find is 2.5" 'wide' it can obstruct this expansion slot area...

Z4 G4 no bios, post, no video output. But fans spinning

Hi!

We recently bought 10+ new Z4 G4 into our corporation. First we recevied one that did not show any bios, post or video output. But the computer itself did start with fans spinning. We tried removing memory sticks, changing to a different graphics card and tried reseating every connector on the motherboard. Still no signs of booting.

The other ones were working fine until today, when 1 of them just decided to do the same thing. It was up and running for 3 days, but now has decided to not cooperate with us anymore.. tried the same procedure as above.

What could be the issue? Is there any ways that i haven't tried that could solve my issue?

Kind regards, Tom

Installing TITAN V on Z440

Hi all

I'm new here .

Happy I found this community .

I'm considering buying a new NVIDIA TITAN V GPU for my Z440 but I couldn't find ant approval that the GPU is actually supported by Z440  . In case it's not I'll be happy to know which machine will work with it with no issues .

I currently have GFORCE 1080TI on the machine .

Thank you !

HPE Support Case 5329170717 for HP ProLiant ML10 Server

Our Server is down from yesterday, still waiting for the resolution from HP. Hoping for the quick response as they always do but no one gets connected to us till now.

Re: Installing TITAN V on Z440

I have the Titan X (Pascal) installed in my Z440 and it works as a charm and i cannot see any problem using a Titan V in the Z440. The Titan V has no special power connectors or special power requirements that the Z440 cannot handle. Image may be NSFW.
