My son picked up this server. It has 6 18.2 go hard drives. It has 4 700 my processors. The machine starts but it says no operating system. I can not get it to boot off of the IDE cd rom. I have changed the cd rom still nothing. I have set cd as primary boot. Bios disables scsi still will not boot. I put a seagate 12 gb hard drive with Windows 98 the bois/cmos sees the drive will not boot from it either. Anything I do says no operating system. The serve sees the hard drive or cd rom even sees a DVD rom I have. It will not boot from any of them... My son wants it for some reason. It had another scsi card I pulled it (nothing connected to it) same problem. I want to install Linux on it for him to learn that OS. It also does a check for symbios and says no comparable device found. Help please. I know there used to be a pci card that you could plug in and boot in dos or Linux but can't find any. Also I know you used to be able to get an eprom that you could put in your network card if it had an Enron socket to boot your server can't find either though. Thank you
