A $0.20 royalty add-on to an $800.00+ graphics card sounds to be a pretty pathetic excuse to me.
I've gotten feedback from various forums that others have had the same PITA experience. Based on my experience I wouldn't recommend the Quadro M4000 to anyone unless they absolutely had no other choice.
Someone (presumably PNY) makes an HP branded M4000 card as that was one of the options I looked at (Provantage). If I had bought the HP branded card I would be all over HP regarding the hassle of getting suitable cables for my monitor.
The main reason I didn't buy the HP card was it was out of stock at Provantage when I ultimately placed the order through Amazon (Provantage actually had a lower "Smart Buy" price, but again it was out of stock). Had I bought the HP branded card I would have cursed HP for selling an item I had to tromp through hell to get working.
Right or wrong, my bottom line is this experience does nothing to endear me to either PNY or Nvidia.
