Hello,

we just set up a few new z240 Workstations equipped with HP Micron M600 256GB SATA Gb/s SSDs and Samsung 840 PRO 256GB SSDs running latest Windows 10. When copying  VHDX Files (>100GB, M600 --> 840 Pro) I noticed extreme slowdowns of the Storage System - copy speed went down to 50MBs and lower IO Delay up to 2 Seconds and more ... see attached Screenshot.

When copying from M600 --> 840 Pro I get about 200MBs ... better but also not good for a SSD where I normally get 450-500MBs.

Already tried it with latest Intel Chipset Drivers and HP's Intel RST - SP78720 Drivers - no luck with both of them.

I'm running out of ideas why the Storage System is that slow ... and hope someone here can help me with this ...

thx, bye from Austria

Are you getting at any point a full SATA 3 500-600MB/s transfer speed e.g. at the begining of the copying process? If not then clearly there is a problem in the configuration / connection / sata cable / drivers etc.

If you are initially getting full speed but then it falls then with these large files there is always the matter of the SSD cache filling up, temperatures increasing and performance falling. If you have e.g. a Samsung 850 you can turn RAPID mode on and see if this helps somewhat.
