Hi: As you suggested, I search this forum for how to swap a CPU ("high caution is needed when changing out processors so you don't bend the tiny contact pins in the process. All that is posted about in the forum.") But no luck so far. Can you point me to a specific post?
You mentioned Noctua thermal compound. Does that usually ship with ebay CPUs, or purchased separately?
Also, I clicked on your profile to try to find how to PM you ("http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/531619"), but don't see a PM listed. I'm not sure how to reach you by PM (so I can get a copy of your CPQSETUP.TXT file). Suggestions appreciated.
I'm still not clear on what changes I need to make (or should consider making) to my BIOS. I think I have the most recent BIOS version -- 2.38 Rev. A, 8 Dec 2010 -- but I think you are suggesting changing BIOS setting, rather than installing a new BIOS. But not sure I'm following.
More help would be appreciated.
