Re: BIOS settings configuration via HPDM

Hey Chen,

Many thanks for your reply!

Your method is clear but i need more info on your mentioned steps.

Like i have one management server for every site's thin-client management where HPDM is installed and accessing the HPDM console.

BCU files are  alreday copied on every think client at the time of image deployment location is :  C:\EF\Setup\sp81841

Now go to mgmt server and select the particular device and drag and drop _File and Registry template:

Click on Add button then following windows will appear:

Select "Capture Files" and click Ok:

Here in the File or folder with full path, which path should i need to mention actually BCU files are only in thin-client not in the mgmt server.

what i have tried in the above two paths but doesn't work:

first path:               cd C:\EF\Setup\sp81841

second path:         BiosConfigUtility64.exe /get "c:\temp\t520_BiosConfig.txt"

When i tried your script: File and Registry > Add > script > t520 Get Bios Config_Win10 IoT.xml  (copy and paste ) and click Ok. task failed with foloowing error:

<Task Version="4" Type="Task" UnitID="0"  Description="Perform customized file, registry and command sub-tasks." BaseTemplate="_File and Registry" OsType="Win10IoT_64" Alias=""><SubTask ID="DeployFiles"><FileTransfer Overwrite="true"><Directory Direction="download" Path="/Repository/Files/ToDeploy/t620 Get Bios Config_Win10 IoT"><FileItem PathOnAgent="c:\temp" FileName="BiosConfigUtility64.exe" IsRecursively="Yes"></FileItem></Directory></FileTransfer></SubTask><SubTask ID="Script"><Content type="batch" encrypt="aes_128_cbc" convert="base64">TgttaEU7EunsUUooWWke+ctXe6P6gTtQ1MzSQo3YT2hzLw6oNyDW4C4MtlZ1pAEbL/KdbVI54Hzv+Dp9a/loZC4RANmNDiFYhm7tlp8lGwk=</Content><StartIn encrypt="aes_128_cbc" convert="base64">T1IRv4SLK0c1K+FWqW4DlQ==</StartIn><RunAs><User encrypt="aes_128_cbc" convert="base64">FL+02upp4VjtIl96tmn1gw==</User><Password encrypt="aes_128_cbc" convert="base64">D0djByUqdip2jToR793O6w==</Password></RunAs></SubTask><SubTask ID="Pause"><Pause>30000</Pause></SubTask><SubTask ID="CaptureFiles"><FileTransfer Overwrite="true"><Directory Direction="upload" Path="/Repository/Files/Captured/%ID%"><FileItem PathOnAgent="c:\temp\" FileName="t620_BiosConfig.txt" IsRecursively="Yes"></FileItem></Directory></FileTransfer></SubTask></Task>

And i dont need bios encryption it means go to bios without any password.

I am waiting for your response!

Thanks and Regards

Syed

Can someone help provide me with a link that says which machines are being updated for spectre/meltdown issues, and which are not?  I cant find anything that mentions the desktops or laptops, only the servers.  I have several HP Compaqs in my environment and need to know if the are getting new Spectre/Meltdown BIOS updates.

Thanks

Seeking PXE driver for HP Compaq Elite 8300

I am trying to find the PXE driver for a HP Compaq Elite 8300, I get the following error message:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1502&SUBSYS_1495103C&REV_04

The message directs me to a Elite 8200 SFF and Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

I have visited the HP driver store and tried all of the I217-LM drivers, and 82579-LM drivers. both Vista 32 (if available) Win7 32bit

I am on a schools RM Education network which uses a build process similar to SCCM and WDS, but requires a PXE driver, usually a Vista 32 driver

Thank you

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1502&SUBSYS_1495103C&REV_04 is the id for the Intel  Intel(R) 82579LM

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-compaq-8200-elite-small-form-factor-pc/5037931/drivers

the HP certified driver for win 7 x64 is: 17.2_276048 Rev.A (sp59582)

make sure PXE is the first thing set in the bios boot order

also you may have to use legacy mode on the boot disk instead of GPT

PXE   (Pre eXecution Environment) is a network protocall that is enabled in the BIOS which allows you to boot the system from the network. there are no drivers required other than the intel 82579 chips os driverdriver

for pxe to work you must have a network card that has a bios chip on it (which most have nowadays) or a motherboard with a network chip and a motherboard bios which has the pxe code. this code executes during the bios portion of the startup before the os loads which is why no pxe windows driver is to be found

check that PXE is enabled in the computers bios, and turn on the system you should see a prompt at the begining saying something about PXE,  searching for  xxxxxxx (the exact wording varies between computer makers)

Nope.

I'd advise taking your Z400 to a computer shop.  There are directions included with the SoftPaq that they can see by running it.

HP EliteBook 850 G5 i7 3JX60EA power via USB-C

Hello there,

we purchased a number of HP EliteBook 850 G5 i7 3JX60EA notebooks. All of them happens periodically, that the battery gets complete loss of power while the power supply is connected via USB-C port.

No error messages appear anywhere. System BIOS Q78 Ver. 01.00.05 01/25/2018

Is this a known issue and, if so, how can we resolve the problem?

Thanks for support

are you using the correct 65 watt HP charger that came with the laptop? or are you using the HP 45 watt charger

the core i7 cpu's draw more power than the 45 watt charger can supply (IE- can not run laptop and charge battery)

read the link below for the HP part numbers for the chargers

it is normal for sites to force you to the top of the web sites menu structure on each login and i suspect that is what's happening here

and that you simply don't know/see which link to click on to navagate to the section you wish to view.

i recomend that you follow the advice posted on the link you gave me for specific help with your issue

HP Z230 Tower Front Fan

Hello everyone,

I have a Z230 tower workstation. This workstation has an optional 4pin front fan header in the motherboard. I installed a 4pin fan in that header but it spins at full speed. I didn't find any info regarding this header , if it has pwm control or not. The fan however has pwm control , i tried even removing the chassis fan that has pwm because it adjust it speed according to the chassis temperature and it still spins at full speed. I did not found any options in the bios.
So any info regarding this header is appreciated

Thanx

but i think its a internal issue at first the node 0 battery was flashing green as in testing mode, but then after turning it off and on(waited about 30 sec to turn it back on) Now the flashing light stop and give all clear on the battery but still wont see the battery in the terminal, swapped with other battery modules as well, the system see the dat changes but still NOT PRESENT is there!!

Has anyone deal with this before?!?!

HP Z620 floppy header

Hello Forum,

according to the "HP Z220 SFF, Z220 CMT, Z420, Z620 and Z820 Workstations - Maintenance and Service Guide", page 176, the HP Z620 should have a header P10 (named "FLOPPY" on the board). For the life of it I am unable to find that header on the Z620 motherboard.

I am not planning to install a floppy drive, but require a floppy power header to connect a SATA DOM to one of the internal SATA ports of the workstation. The SATA DOM requires 5V power and uses a floppy connector type to source that voltage from the motherboard.

I would appreciate if somebody could point me to the location of that hidden P10 header on the board.

Thanks and regards,
