Are you using ThinPro / SmartClient or WES units?

In ThinPro there is this Feature described in the Manual Ramesh posted:

AD/DDNS Manager
This control allows you to add the thin client to an Organizational Unit of the Active Directory Server, and to enable automatic Dynamic DNS updates of the thin client's name and IP-address association. It does not enable authentication against the Active Directory database.

For WES there is a Join Domain Template in the free HP Device Manager.

Is it a WES unit?

If yes you need to first either disable the Write Filter and then enable the Write Filter after you made those changes or use the File-Based Write Filter and add the changed files/registry to it.

Otherwise no change will be saved after a reboot when the Write Filter is enabled.

Driver for Nuvoton NPCD379H ("SIO-12") - or information

Hi

I'm looking for some help on the NPCD379HAKFX.  A number of current and recent HP machines (e.g. Z1, Z240, Z640, 8300 series) come with this Nuvoton "SIO-12" on the motherboard.  e.g. http://www.techrepublic.com/pictures/cracking-open-the-7000-hp-z1-workstation/52/

I can find no info on this chip, Nuvoton tell me it's a special for HP, and under NDA.  I'm sure it has some hardware monitoring capabilities, and currently appears unsupported under Linux (specifically SLES / SLED 11).

Several of these machines claim SLES/SLED support.

Is it possible to release info on this chip for Linux driver development, and are there windows drivers available ?

Thanks

HP EliteDesk 800 G2 sff display port issue

I have brand new HP EliteDesk 800G2 SFF with 8GB/Samsung SSD in Window 7 professional with SP1. It is connected via Displayport cables to 2 HP E242 EliteDisplays. After the PC goes into sleep mode, thats no way it can wake it up. I have to cold boot it back. The only option to go around is to set the power option to never sleep.

Also, once in a while, the displays will blink and go black for a few seconds and come back up. Then on the right bottom corner, a notification screen will appear and say the display driver is crushed or something.

Any one knows the fixes for these 2 issues? Please advise and Thx!

ps: I have tried installed the currect driver from HP as well as from Intel support but still in vain.

your Z800 has either two Xeon X5670 (6 physical cores, 12 threads) or two Xeon X5570 (4 physical cores, 8 threads) which is more likely from what you wrote.

Depending on your system board revision, you can upgrade both processors to Xeon X5690.

Some applications can also use graphics cards like Quadro 4000, Quadro 5000 or Quadro 6000 for rendering.

If you can afford it, you could even get two of those and connect them using a SLI bridge.

Anyway, the Core i7-2600k is 2nd generation, Xeon X55xx and 56xx series are 1st generation i7 class processors and your current setup already outperforms the other PC.

SDH,
I chose the predator because
1. It's and adhc m.2 pcie card.
2. It's not nvme (newer standard likley not supported on my hardware)
3. Price/performance was calling to me. A new Samsung 850 Evo/Pro is $40 less than what I paid for the Predator but the predator has nearly three times the performance on the read side for the same storage size.
4. I think of myself as a little bit of a power user and its new tech so I love to try new stuff.

Hope that answers your question SDH

Sorry forgot the model

HyperX Predator Half-Height, Half-Length (HH-HL) 240GB PCI-Express 2.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SHPM2280P2H/240G (with HHHL Adapter)

and as for capacity 240gb is plenty the 480 model is double price and was not to keen on the idea of forking out $320 for something that may or may not work in my system.

(hint hint newegg.com has pretty good prices on most of the stuff I buy. bought the card for $160)

Z240 wont boot from M.2

Have a new Z240 Workstation with a Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 nVMe SSD.

Windows 10 will install to the SSD from USB no problem but the machine fails to find the OS post install.

The Samsung 950 Pro SSD does not show up in the UEFI section of the BIOS, but it does show up under Legacy devices.

Secure Boot is not enabled.

If I add a SATA HDD,  Windows Boot Manager gets installed on the SATA device and the machine will then boot Windows 10 from SSD.

How do I get the machine to boot from SSD without having to have a SATA HDD installed?

I've updated the BIOS from 01.11 to 01.21 with no change in the above.

Thanks. I don't have a support contract or warranty with HP, and the support pages are generic.

If you could direct me to someone specifically who can provide this information, that would be much appreciated.
