You'll be facing two problems if you attempt that:
1) drivers
2) license
In terms of the first, HP supplies no Win7 drivers for that PC, so after the Win7 install, you'll be stuck using generic drivers that are supplied by MS, and those only support the most basic functions. While you can install some older drivers in newer OSs using Compatibility Mode, MS changed the drivers models a LOT for Win7, so the XP drivers are most likely, not going to work.
In terms of the second, your PC has an HP OEM license for XP and that does not carry over to Win7. You would have to purchase Win7 license to use it on this PC.
