We have an issue with poor performance with HP thin clients connecting to a Citrix farm across WAN connections.
Our network team have been investigating the issue and it appears its being caused by packet fragmentation between the thin client and the Citrix hosts causing excess load on routers, firewalls and WAN optimisers which came about when MPLS encryption was setup causing increase in packet overhead.
They have suggested to resolve this issue we decrease the MTU size on the thin client however having researched this issue further, 'Path MTU Discovery' (PMTUD) which negotiates the size of the datagram to the maximum permitted across all hops, should resolve this issue.
Does anyone know if HP Thinpro 5.2 supports 'Path MTU Discovery' (PMTUD) i.e. turned on by default ?
The Citrix windows servers do and I've been told all the network kit does
