Soooo.... here's what I did to access my media and apps.... Purchased a SABRENT EC-UEIS7  External drive enclosure for $30 in which I installed each suspect drive indevidualy... This external enclosure gives you access to all data on the drive  via a USB2 cable supplied OR an eSATA cable (not Supplied) ... Transfer data to an external USB or EXTERNAL USB drive THROUGH a MULTI USB?eSATA port equiped Comp or even to a file you name on another Windows OR OSX machine... It WILL save all your data if the drives are good! It will get you SAFE for now but you and I may still have to get another machine.... I have NOT tried to boot the xw8000 to an external USB2 drive YET

BUT I DO NOT HAVE HIGH HOPES !!! I took a quick look at the price of a new mother board and its NUTS apx.$600!!!

Searching on here for an answer for an alternate drive controller card... I REALLY SUSPECT the drive controller is the problem and are WAY less expensive than a new MOTHERBOARD.... OTHERWISE I/WE will have to do the slow transfer process of applications and media to a NEW windows (supported) version machine and whose to say if the application from XP will work on the NEW OS.... Yep Thanks HP!
