Any drive that is larger than 2TB needs to be formatted using GPT in order to use the entire drive.  Older PCs can see drives formatted using MBR -- which only goes up to 2TB.

 

With a GPT-formatted drive, I believe you have to boot using UEFI -- and your Win7 machine boots using BIOS.

 

So, I don't think you will be able to use that drive.  Sorry
