Is there any way to change the power-on password using BiosConfigUtility.exe?
In my company we configure the computers with a unique administrator password among all the computers to protect the Bios and a power-on password known by all users. Users are encouraged to change the power-on password.
Up to now, in 8x00 Elite desktop computers, each user could change the power-on password without knowing the administrator password but it seems that this is no longer possible: the only way to change the power-on password is entering in Bios with the administrator password. This is very annoying because it requires that one of our technicians must go to the user desk to do the operation.
If BiosConfigUtility.exe had this feature we could setup a procedure run by end-users to change their power-on passwords using encripted files and elevation.
