This is also a great choice, and a better one if you are into multi core / multi thread workloads. There are also advantages arrising from the lower TDP and possibility to utilise 2 of these processors if you ever get a Z620 / Z820.
The prices fo the E5 v1 processors are pretty attractive at the moment - waiting for the v2 prices to drop somewhat before upgrading.
