Hello,
My HP Compaq Pro 6300 starts with 1.5 minute delay when my Plantronics DA70 USB sound processor is connected. It doesn't matter which USB port I use (front, back, USB 3.0 / 2.0). The PC simply hangs on startup at the HP start screen. BIOS setup and boot menu are still accessible with connected DA70. Only the start of the operating system is delayed. It is also doesn't matter which operating system is booted. The start of Windows , of Linux or Live CDs are delayed. As soon as the USB adapter is disconnected, the operating system starts immediately.
I can also rule out that the Plantronics DA70 is defective, since I have already tested it with 3 different DA70 devices. Other devices, e.g. A USB table microphone does not delay the start. And when the operating system is started, the USB adapter works perfectly.
I suspect that the BIOS has a bug that causes this problem. I tested it with the version 2.05 (distribution version) and with the latest version 3.04 of the K1 BIOS. For both version I have the same problem. I have already tried different BIOS settings. E.g. prevent Boot from USB, only UEFI, only Lagacy, different power options. Unfortunately without success.
Have you still ideas how I can prevent the delayed start with connected USB device?
Is the BIOS still further developed?
Best regards
Chris
