QUESTION: HOW do I make this ThinPro pass through the Webcam info to the Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server that it connects to???
STEPS SO FAR...
T510 with OS kernel version 3.8.13-hp
Have brand new Logitech Webcam, that works (on PC)
Find people on web have succeeded with this but ONLY with the latest ThinPro software (https://communities.vmware.com/thread/508721 - "I have a t510 model as well. I upgraded it to the latest released OS and the web cam works perfectly")
Downloaded new ThinPro image from http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5226532&swItemId=vc_139586_1&swEnvOid=4030
installed it successfully to USB (and I can even see the files on it when browse it from my PC, and they look convincingly like a linux install)
Booted ThinPro T510 from USB
- hinPro sits for several minutes with the single flashing white underscore on black screen
- then starts ... and is still OS kernel version 3.8.13-hp
At the ThinPro login screen > [spanner icon] > additional > peripherals > usb > devices > make the device "redirect" or "use defaults" or "do not redirect", and no matter which is chosen, the webcam FAILS to appear on the Remote Desktop Server
Can some kind person please explain how i can get this T510 to successfully connect a webcam to Remote Desktop Server session?
