The first thing that you need to do is, give the computer a thorough cleaning inside and out. Dust is the #1 cause of overheating in a computer.
Now, since you are getting memory warnings, it may be that the heat has damaged the memory. You can test it by removing all of the modules and replacing them one at a time and booting. Be certain to turn off the computer before removing the modules.
