Windows 7 does not recognize any hard drives, but the DPS self test runs

I had a Intel 160GB SSD and a WD 500GB HDD and wanted to add a WD 1TB HDD to my working system with Windows 10. When I added the drive and powered up, the system would not boot. I tried my repair disk and it would not recognize any drives other than the DVD.

I removed all of the drives except the SSD and retried the repair disk, it still could not find any drives. Startup repair gave the following results.

Problem Event Name:  StartupRepairOffline

Problem Signature 01:  0.0.0.0

Problem Signature 02:  0.0.0.0

Problem Signature 03:  unknown

Problem Signature 04:  0

Problem Signature 05:  unknown

Problem Signature 06:  1

Problem Signature 07:  unknown

OS Version:  6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1

Locale ID:  1033

I put in the 500GB drive and tried the repair disk and it could not find any drives, I retried it with the 1TB and got the same reuslts.

Next, I tried the DPS self test on the 500GB HDD and it ran sucessfully, but windows still did not recognize a HDD.

I used command prompt to start Notepad and searched for drives using the File command, no HDDs were found.

I then switched SATA 0 and 1, with the same results.

I believe that the SSD broke and damaged the Mother Board, and that my HDD's are all bad, but I would like to find a way to determine this. I don't want to buy a MB and then have the HDD break it or throw away good HDDs.

Is there any way that I can safely test the HDD to see if they are the cause of the problem or if they will damage the new MB?
