I started using the eco mode but switched to constant fan mode. Reason being is becuase it helps keep the internals cool and assists in the airflow. This is why I turned the PSU around in the first palce. I thinknit is a really good PSU. I noticed it kept the temperatures cooler, however I am not 100% on this becuase I did not measure. Sometimes I would monitor with MSI afterburner the stats. It seemsblike its helping a bit. I also uncovered all the ports from the back of the case tohelp with air flow. Now not once I can I hear the fan of the 1080 rev up, however the updated driver mainly fixed that. I got the zotac version of the founders and very surprised that now I consistently get 1840 to 1880 mhz when this is even more then the posted specs for the boost. This is without doing anything to the setting. You can easily over clock past 2 ghz with msi afterburner have it stable.
