Okay, I was able to fix the problem.
It turned out I had to go into the Windows-10 control panel and then select "network and sharing setting" . then select "ethernet adapter" and select "ethernet", then right click and select "properties" , then select "configure" and select "power managment". Then uncheck "allow this conputer to wake on lan"
I had to do this for both ethernet adapter ports.
Now sleep/hybernation works perfect.
