Z800 CPU upgrade and SSD

Hi all,

I recently bought a Z800 HP Workstation 64GB 2TB 2x Xeon Quad Core X5620 2.4GHz (8 Cores) that came with Windows 7 Pro. I deleted the Windows 7 and installed Ubuntu 14.04, and it is working nicely so far. I will primarily be using this desktop for bioinformatic work such as genomes and transcriptome analysis. I love my experience with the Z800, however, I have experienced some issues such as (1) it had crashed a couple of times. Twice when I was returning from suspended mode, (2) it is somewhat slow to boot and to start the system, and (3) although I have installed preload apps in it, it still lags to load apps some apps such as FileZilla, google chrome, etc. Because all that, I have decided to upgrade my Z800 and I would love to get some feedback from the community and get the most out of this awesome machine.

First, I have bought a SanDisk SSD Plus 240 GB to run my OS (in this case Ubuntu). It is taking 1min40s to load Ubuntu, and I believe the SSD can help me with that and probably maker faster to open apps, etc.Not so sure about SSD bay adapter. Which one is the best for the Z800?

Second, I am planning to buy 2 Intel Xeon E5675 Processor SLBYL 3.06GHz CPU. I have compared my X5620 with the X5675 in some websites over the internet, and it looks like the difference is not impressive, but it has a great cost-benefit compared to the X5690's.

What do you guys think about my upgrade? I am not so well versed in hardware and I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you in advance
