I installed an EVGA GTX-980 in the first 16x slot of a z820 with dual CPUs.
It works, but is considerably slower (measured using Passmark PerformanceTest) than the same EVGA card in another non-HP machine with the same video driver version and video card firmware:
HP z820 - 3d Graphic Mark = 8,160
Other PC - 3d Graphic Mark = 12,671
The HP did not automatically run the video card at PCIe 3.0, so I modified the registry so that it would, but (as expected) the difference was insignificant.
Unless there is something faulty with video card in the HP which is causing it to drag it feets, what could be going on here?
