So the only cards that we have tested in the Z840 are the LSI 9270 and the 9217.
That is not to say that your card will not work, but it isn't officially supported as it was never tested.
However, we can always to a 'best effort' case. 
First thing to check is to ensure the firmware of your card is up to date.
